Craig Magill was born and raised in Wyoming. He attended the University of Wyoming, where he studied Fine Arts. He made his way to Jackson Wyoming in the 80's. He now lives in the mountains south of Jackson Wyoming, where he has a home in Star Valley. Star Valley is surrounded by three National Forests, the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Targhee National Forest and the Caribou National Forest. The Snake River, Salt River and the Greys River meet near Alpine to form the Palisades Reservoir.
Wildlife is Craig's subject of choice, oil is the medium.
Craig spends his free time, fishing, hiking, hunting and horseback riding in the forests of Wyoming. The sights, fauna and flora are the inspirations for his paintings
